It's a cold night tonight

I can feel the chill just running through my veins

It's a cold night tonight

And I've got questions I cannot explain.

I am caught in the here and now,

but I know that someday, somehow

this old self will pass away.

And then I'll face eternity

with no more questions inside of me

and be left with the choices that I've made.

And I wade through my unbelief

to a place where my mind can see

the truth of You living in my heart.

In spite of the shame that consumes my days

I know that Jesus has made a way,

And this prayer seems a decent way to start.

but if I live 'til morning's light

I still want Jesus by my side.

All the choices I've made since then

Some were right, but some were sin

cannnot undo the work You've done in me.

And if I can trust You with my soul

and the universe is in Your control

then I can trust You with eternity.
